OUR TOP 5 EATERIES IN BRIGHTON

April 09, 2017 by Molly Kyte

Brighton really is one of the best cities in the country for vegans to live in and visit. Switching to plant based eating is really easy with lots of café's and restaurants in Brighton now offering vegan options on their menus. Not to mention the amazing whole food shops around! We've chosen our top 5 plant based eateries around the city.

BEST COFFEE: THE PLANT ROOM

Brighton isn't short of places to grab a great coffee. The Plant Room work with AllPress coffee roasters and have experienced baristas that'll make the best Bonsoy Latte you've ever tasted. They also have a vegetarian/vegan menu and lots of vegan cakes and treats. Enjoy a drink in the beautiful square in the Summer and treat yourself to a vegan treat made by yours truly.

BEST BREAKFAST: SIX

The vegan breakfast at SIX is hands down the best we've tried in Brighton. It's where we bring our friends who come to visit as they also have options for non-vegans (although they always end up jealous of ours). Everything on the menu is organic and you can tell a lot of thought and effort has been put into all the dishes. Attached to the restaurant is 42 Juice @ SIX who make amazing juices and nut mylks.

BEST LUNCH: WE LOVE FALAFEL

This is our go to takeaway lunch when we're in town. Our favourites are the beetroot and the sweet potato, and we always get our falafel wrap with extra smoked tofu. Don't let the queue put you off, it's well worth the wait. Pretty much everything in there is vegan and the price is very reasonable for the size!

BEST CASUAL DINNER: PUREZZA

Purezza is the only totally vegan pizzeria in Brighton. They specialise in sourdough pizza (the dough is incredible!) made with their homemade vegan mozzarella and have endless topping options including pea pancetta and smoked beetroot. They also have a creative raw menu and plant based puddings. The 'Parmigiana Party' is our favourite.

BEST DINNER FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION: ROOTCANDI

Rootcandi offers a unique tapas style menu that is 100% plant based. The menu changes frequently and never disappoints. It's slightly on the expensive side so we would recommend saving a trip for a special occasion. Their cocktails are delicious and service is impeccable. It's worth visiting Brighton for alone.
