Women’s Mid Week Rejuvenation Retreat
7th - 9th May 2019
Join us for a calming and restorative 3 days from 7-9 May at the beautiful Tilton House, nestled in the foot of the Downs in the Sussex countryside. The theme of this special midweek retreat will be on rejuvenating our tired souls. Curated by Karen Newby, nutritionist and Alchemy founder, the retreat is designed to bring you deep relaxation and renewed vitality, much needed in this busy world we live in!
The retreat will include:
A well being check in and check out
4 nutrition talks by Karen focussing on combating the far reaching effects of stress:
Foods for stress resilience – do you suffer with a ‘worry waist’? This can be a sign of too much stress hormone cortisol. The session will help us boost our resilience to stress through the power of food! Including sleep (lack of sleep is also a stressor).
The effect of stress on our hormones – the ‘cortisol steal’. Foods to help balance symptoms of peri-menopause, PMS and low thyroid.
Foods to help us feel ‘in the zone’ rather than ‘wired and tired’. Feel refreshed on waking and not sleepy mid afternoon!
Foods for brain health – foggy head begone! Plus a look at the gut – often called the ‘second brain’ and how stress can down regulate it.
A restorative yoga session in the woodland yurt run by Kate Winter.
A deeply relaxing, guided meditation with Jessica Cook also set in the woodland yurt.
A 5 course plant based tasting menu by the hugely talented Planted ladies.
A welcome goodie bag full of treats featuring some of our friends from the world of wellness (and including Alchemy of course!).
You can opt to do as little or as much as you like- it’s your retreat so you might just want to recline in the conservatory and read a book! Tilton House is a wonderful space, once owned by John Maynard Keynes and his wife, both part of the Bloomsbury set – Charleston is two lanes away! There is a fire pit should the weather allow us to sit out and do some moon bathing plus a cedar wood sauna in the grounds and a masseuse can also be booked should you require a treatment.
We very much look forward to welcoming you!
We’ll be trading at Vegan Nights for the first time! Come and say hi and get your hands on one of our delicious Scotch Veggs, as well as a selection of beautiful seasonal salads.
Vegan Nights launched in September 2017 as a one-off night market and plant-based party at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. The event immediately smashed expectations when nearly 3,000 people descended upon our 500 capacity venue. There was a clear appetite to see Vegan Nights become a regular event, and we have been working hard to meet the demands of East London's insatiable vegan community ever since. Having only just celebrated our first birthday, we’re super proud to already be recognised globally as one of the pioneering and largest vegan food celebrations!
Adopting a festival feel, the location of Vegan Nights currently stretches comfortably in excess of 50,000ft² of the Truman Brewery and boasts a huge outdoor food court and nightclub. With a carefully curated line-up of around 40 food stalls serving the biggest and best selection of plant-based street food and desserts, Vegan Nights really is the best place for lifelong vegans to socialise alongside punters merely curious to see the latest seitan creation. Come for the food, stay for the (vegan) beer, DJs and inimitable atmosphere.
*Vegan Nights welcomes all diets (plant-based or otherwise), all ages and any four-legged friends...*
Creative Differences is an all inclusive art market featuring work from exhibitors who come from a varied melting pot of creative backgrounds. Their aim is to bring together artists, illustrators, record labels, makers, clothing brands, ceramicists, anything creative! All under one roof for one day.
Their next event takes place on Saturday 25th May 2019 at Komedia from 11am – 4pm. The bar will be open and there will be workshops, live portraits and DJ’s playing throughout the day. Also, event sponsors Horsham Coffee Roaster will be serving up some of their delicious coffee. And Planted Food!
